(Washington-AP) -- U-S Representative Brad Carson has landed a seat on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
The Second District Democrat says he hopes to get more money for roads in the district.
Carson was elected in November to replace retired Republican Tom Coburn, who once rejected millions of dollars in highway money for the district.
Coburn called transportation dollars "pork" and said other House members were trying to buy his vote for a large reauthorization bill.
