WASHINGTON, D.C. - The city of Claremore is one step closer to getting federal funding for an elevated railroad track transportation project.
U.S. Congressman Dan Boren's office says $332,500 in funding for the project was approved by the House Wednesday.
"It is critical that we continue to maintain and develop our state's transportation infrastructure. I'm proud to bring this funding to Claremore to assist with the safety and business development that the project will provide the community. I look forward to working in the future to obtain funding for transportation projects that help local communities address critical needs," Boren said.
Boren says the project will alleviate the transportation and safety hazards that arise from many of the city's main thoroughfares crossing railroad tracks.

The U.S. Senate is considering the bill right now.
