TULSA, Oklahoma -- Several Tulsa churches joined together for a special blessing Saturday.
Christian Orthodox Churches of Holy Trinity, Saint Antony and Holy Apostles met at the Arkansas river to bless the water.
"Every year we come down here and bless the water. It's part of an epiphany celebration where Christ descended into the Jordan. The idea is that the water is blessed and can go throughout the world," said Father George Eber.
The churches made a large ice cross that they pushed into the water as part of the blessing.
Church members say they pray for Tulsa's leaders, government officials and armed forces as part of the celebration.
