TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death of a man who died while in custody of the Creek County Sheriff's Office.

The OSBI said Matthew Kelley, 27, died Sunday, July 10, 2011 after deputies responded to a call in the 6300 block of South 42nd West Avenue in Tulsa.

Investigators say deputies were attempting to arrest Kelley for violating a protection order when Kelley ran inside his house and refused to comply.

Creek County Sheriff's deputies said they tased Kelley at least twice and used OC Spray on him during a struggle to handcuff him.  The OSBI says Kelley continued to fight with deputies as he was being carried into the back of a patrol car.

Deputies found blood on Kelley and transported him to a hospital where he was found dead in the back seat of the patrol car.
