There's progress in the case of a stolen wallet that's gotten some attention, because of when and where the wallet was stolen--right after a car accident, out of the victim's car.

Police identified a suspect, after getting pictures from stores where stolen credit cards were used. The police are hoping someone will know where they can find the suspect.

It's been a busy couple of weeks for Ron Donaldson, who turned detective to find the thief.

Someone stopped to help his wife after a car accident at 26th and Yale in Tulsa. While she was going to the ambulance, the thief was going through her car to get her wallet, and quickly started spending money.

Police got a surveillance picture of the suspect, which led to an identification and a new, better picture.

His name is Kenneth Gregory, and while police want to find him, Donaldson has been on the case around the clock.

"I just wanted to go tackle this guy and hold him down and call the police and say I got him," Donaldson said.

Donaldson tracked down the charges through five gas stations and an Atwoods, and hopes someone knows where police can find the suspect.

"I think it's just a matter of someone in the public recognizing this guy and calling the cops and says, 'He's right here, pick him up," Donaldson said.

Though we're seeing a more recent mug shot of Gregory, he's been photographed in jail before. He's served time for first degree manslaughter, attempted escape, possession of contraband in prison and possession of stolen copper.

He got out of prison in December 2011.

That only makes Donaldson even more determined to get Kenneth Gregory off the streets, but now he's backed off the case and is letting the police do their work.

"My whole thing was, I just wanted to get the guy myself, just go out there and find him, that's how infuriated I was with the whole thing," he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS or text TIP918 to CRIMES.
