The Principal Chief of the Creek Nation, George Tiger says he plans to campaign for president of the National Congress of American Indians when it holds its annual convention in Tulsa.

The Principal Chief of the Creek Nation, George Tiger says he plans to campaign for president of the National Congress of American Indians when it holds its annual convention in Tulsa.

Tiger says he is hosting a reception with tribal leaders from across the U.S. in his bid for the job.

Tiger is one of five announced candidates running for president of NCAI. The election will take place during the NCAI's 70th Annual Convention at the Cox Business Center in downtown Tulsa.

The National convention runs October 13-18.

Founded in 1944, the National Congress of American Indians holds its annual convention each year to discuss and plan the future of American Indian and Alaska Native legislation and policies.
