The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Sapulpa woman died after being hit by a truck as she ran across a street in west Tulsa Friday morning.

The OHP got the call at about 6:45 a.m. to the 2900 block of West 21st Street.

According to the OHP report on the incident, Mary Rice, 50, stepped into the path of an eastbound 2010 Ford pickup at 6:33 a.m.

The driver, 37-year-old Brian Davis of Tulsa, told troopers he didn't see Rice because of traffic on the road.

Trooper Leonard McMillan said a number of vehicles had lined up outside the Department of Public Safety license bureau gate.

The report says the incident is still under investigation.
