Keystone Dam Highway To Re-Open Following Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will reopen the highway over Keystone Dam Friday afternoon.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will reopen the highway over Keystone Dam Friday afternoon. The opening will follow a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday morning.

Highway 151A has been closed since October 2013 causing drivers to take a 25-mile detour.

The project cost $15.6 million with $6-million of that funded by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

Officials said the 50-year-old highway which spans Keystone Dam received a complete overhaul with new concrete decking.

The 2.3 mile long highway connects Highway 51 on the south side of the Arkansas River to Highway 412 on the north.
