Tulsa, State Road Crews Treating Roads After Winter Storm Slams Into Oklahoma

Tulsa, State Road Crews Treating Roads After Winter Storm Slams Into Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has sand trucks and snow plows out across eastern Oklahoma after a winter storm pushed in Wednesday morning.

Officials in Washington, Osage, Pawnee, Creek, Tulsa and Rogers counties report slick conditions and are urging drivers to use caution on bridges.

In Tulsa, the city streets department says its fleet of equipment and workers have been treating streets.

The city says it has 4,500 tons of salt on hand plus 63 truck-mounted salt spreaders working Wednesday.

ODOT advises drivers to plan for extra travel time Wednesday and stay at least 200 feet behind road-clearing equipment on the highway.

The city of Broken Arrow says its workers have treating all arterial roads in their community and street crews will be out until the winter storm is over.
