One of Tulsa’s most wanted has been tracked down to his girlfriend’s Chicago apartment and arrested, according to a Wednesday news release.
TPD Sgt. Dave Walker said the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force, with the help of the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested Roderick Whiteside on Wednesday.
Whiteside was wanted on a first-degree murder complaint for the June 9 killing of Cedrick Gilmer at a Tulsa motel.
Investigators said Gilmer went to a party at the motel after posting on Facebook that he was carrying a large amount of cash. The motive for his murder is believed to be robbery.

Whiteside’s girlfriend, 21-year-old Jasmine Coleman, also was arrested for first-degree murder.
Investigators still are looking for Claude Calvin, 24, in connection to the case. A warrant was issued for his arrest this week.
Homicide detectives said forensic testing is underway on evidence and that also could lead to implicating another person in the murder.
“This person has denied any involvement in the crime and denied being at the scene,” Walker said. “DNA testing will determine the validity of his statement.”
