The City of Tulsa has temporarily stopped a parking meter test in the Brady District, while signs are manufactured with clearer instructions on how to use them.

The meters have been bagged and shrink wrapped and a "free parking" sign is attached to them.

City spokesperson Michele Allen said the new signs and meters were supposed to be installed at the same time, but the signs were delayed at the city sign shop.

Allen said no cars were ticketed for failure to pay and none will be while the meters are bagged.

Cars were ticketed for being parked more than two hours in one spot and enforcement of the time limit will continue, said Allen.

The Brady District meters are part of a three month test of different models of meter.  Once the city selects a manufacturer, that model will replace the others and slowly be worked into other areas of downtown.
