The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says an elderly Pawhuska woman died and an elderly man is in critical condition after a three vehicle crash west of Bartlesville Wednesday morning.
Troopers said the crash happened on Highway 60 four miles west of Bartlesville just after 11:30 a.m.
The OHP says a 2001 Ford SUV followed by a 1992 Dodge pickup were headed west when the driver of the SUV attempted to make a u-turn at a county road intersection.
Troopers said the pickup ran into the back of the SUV, pushing it into the eastbound lane where a 2011 Chrysler sedan hit the SUV head on.
The OHP says two people were pinned in the car until Bartlesville firefighters were able to free them. Betty Reber, 79, of Pawhuska was taken to a Bartlesville hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver, John Reber, 86, of Pawhuska was also taken to the same hospital then transferred to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Ford SUV, Hung Dinh, 41, and a passenger, Adrienne Jacobs, 34, both of Pawhuska were transported to the Bartlesville hospital and are in stable condition.
The driver of the pickup, Samuel Malloy, 24, of Pawhuska was treated and released from the hospital. A passenger, Kelsye Arnce, 22, also from Pawhuska was listed in stable condition at the hospital. Three minor children riding in the pickup, ages one, one and three were not injured..
The OHP says Dinh was cited for an improper u-turn.
