An Oklahoma solder killed in Iraq in October will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in a private ceremony.
Master Sergeant Joshua Wheeler died while rescuing 70 people being held hostage by ISIS in Iraq. He is the first American soldier killed in combat against the terror group.
A memorial service is planned for November 24 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Muldrow. That service, which will be open to the public, will begin at 10 a.m.

According to Wheeler's obituary, he joined the U.S. Army in 1995, a year after graduating high school. He was deployed 14 times to Afghanistan and Iraq.
Wheeler was a heavily decorated soldier who earned 11 Bronze Stars and numerous other commendations.
