As severe weather threatened much of Green County, damage reports were being called in across eastern Oklahoma. The National Weather Service said their survey crew released a preliminary rating of an EF1 at 48th and Riverside.
Winds have been reported up to nearly 90 miles per hour near Brookside. News On 6 reporter Tess Maune said several trees are down in the area.
According to the Tulsa Area Emergency Management, in addition to trees, multiple power lines are down. They said the hardest hit area is near 49th and South Boston.
South of Brookside, News On 6 reporter Annie Chang said a big tree was down near 48th and Madison. She also spoke with residents of the area who said there were several tree limbs scattered all over their yards. And one resident had roof damage.
Checotah may have been one of the most damaged areas. The Checotah mayor confirmed downtown was hit by strong winds and possibly a tornado.

Due to the damage, Checotah Public Schools posted on its Facebook page that classes are canceled for Wednesday, April 27.
