Tulsa Police Search For Couple Charged With Child Neglect

Tulsa Police are looking for a couple charged with child neglect.

Investigators said their two-year-old daughter was burned so badly, she had to be flown to Texas for emergency treatment.

Police said the girl's 9-year-old autistic brother told them that he did it but investigators said their other brother told police the mother had coached the boy on what to say.

Tulsa Police are looking for Britney and Tommy Crawley Jr. 

Officers said the couple was asleep when their two-year-old daughter got severely burned on her chest, neck, and back.

Police said the girl and her 9 and 4-year old brothers were home at the time.

Some neighbors are surprised to hear the parents are now charged with child neglect.

"It's kind of sad because your parents are supposed to be there for you,” said neighbor Carlos Navarro. "But in this situation is the opposite."

Police said the burns happened in May and that's when the two brothers ran across the street to get help with their little sister.

The boys didn't want the neighbors to wake their parents for fear they'd get mad.

Paramedics found the girl badly burned and her face swollen from an allergic reaction the day before.

"Those two parents never once heard their child crying, didn't know what happened, how the injury occurred and didn't give the child any medical treatment," said Tulsa Police Officer Jeanne Mackenzie. 

Investigators said the couple's 9-year-old autistic son first told them that he accidentally gave his little sister a bath in hot water but investigators don't believe that story matches the child's injuries.

"They were given several different stories of what occurred and how the injury happened," Mackenzie said. 

Neighbors said they just hope the parents are found soon.

"It's pretty sad. Hopefully, they find out where they're at and serve justice," said neighbor Cannon Schroeder.

The little girl is recovering from her injuries. 

Police said all three children are in DHS custody.
