A man is in jail after a woman told Broken Arrow police he “zapped” her with a stun gun.
Officers responded to a home in the 3500 block of West Freeport Street around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018.
BAPD said a woman was reportedly being assaulted and held against her will.
When officers arrived, a witness told them the suspect, 37-year-old Travis Bayless, was seen tazing a woman and pulled a knife on her.
BAPD said officers surrounded the home at tried to make contact at the front door. Police said, eventually, the woman was released from the home.
The front door was left open and officers said they told Bayless he was under arrest and to leave the home, but he refused, telling officers they would have to come get him.
Officers eventually got Bayless out of the home. They said he resisted arrest but was taken into custody.
The woman told police when she was trying to leave the home, Bayless “zapped” her in the chest with a stun gun and was hit on the head with the blunt end of a knife.
Police said Bayless is being held on complaints of kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest.
