A motorcycle crash shut down the northbound lanes of the Tisdale Parkway from downtown Tulsa to North Pine early Monday and left one person in critical condition.

Police say a 27-year-old motorcyclist crashed into the back of a white car and was thrown from the bike around 2:30 a.m.. Police say Andre Anderson was northbound at "an extremely high rate of speed" before crashing into the car, which was also going north.

Officers believe whoever was in the car fled the scene. Investigators are working to learn why they left, records show.

A passerby saw the motorcyclist and called for help. Anderson, a Tulsa resident, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The northbound lanes of the Tisdale were closed for about four hours.
