Editor's Note: Friday, we told you a Tulsa County jury found Terry Hansen guilty of murdering Wesley Westcott and recommended Hansen go to prison for life. We reported that the murder was the result of a fight over drugs and want to clarify that. Police tell us Hansen had been in a drug deal that went wrong and he was angry and planning to go confront the drug dealer at a Tulsa residence. Westcott showed up and was trying to calm Hansen down. They say in Hansen's meth-induced paranoia, he thought Westcott was trying to hurt him, rather than help him, and Hansen stabbed Westcott in the neck. We apologize for not reporting the additional details.
A Tulsa County jury has convicted of a man of murder and recommended a life sentence. The judge immediately sentenced Terry Hansen to life in prison.
Hansen was found guilty of murdering Wesley Westcott last summer. Police said Westcott was stabbed to death in west Tulsa.
Hansen previously served time in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for assault with a deadly weapon, larceny of an auto and other crimes.
