Police arrested two teens for taking another teen's car at gunpoint then crashing it Tuesday night.

Officers said two 16-year-old boys threatened to shoot the 18-year-old victim if she didn't give up her 2004 Ford Mustang outside a QuikTrip at 13th and Garnett at about 11 p.m.

A short time later, a police officer spotted the car at Admiral and Harvard. Police said when the officer turned around to stop the car, it sped off. A few minutes later the Mustang crashed into a retaining wall at Independence and College.

Police said the driver got out and ran, but the passenger stayed with the car.

A K-9 officer tracked the driver to a storage shed behind a home and police arrested him. Police said the dog bit the teen in the foot when he tried to run.

Police said they found a .22 caliber handgun used in the robbery in the car.

They said the victim identified the two boys. She told News On 6 she and her partner had bought the car as a wreck and put a lot of work and money into it to restore it. It's a special edition 40th anniversary Mustang. She called the suspects a couple of punks.
