A small fire prompted an evacuation of the downtown Tulsa Community College building Monday afternoon.
It happened just before 6 p.m. and all evening classes were canceled.
TCC campus police say the power went out and the emergency alarms in the building went off, prompting the evacuation. Campus police found smoke coming from a utility closet on the main academic floor. They said the first floor filled with smoke, as crews worked to put out the fire.
School officials say the fire was caused by a blown transformer.
Campus police said no one was hurt and the building was evacuated without incident.
Tulsa Fire is still on the scene assessing the damage.
School officials say they don't know yet how long repairs will take, but they have canceled classes for Tuesday. The school says employees and students are not to go to campus and if they have any questions, to check TCC's website. But the school said essential employees will report to work.
The school is seeking possible alternative destinations for classes.
TCC's Center for Creativity will remain open, as that area was not affected by the fire.
