UNDATED -- The Chickasaw tribe operates two of the state's largest and most profitable casinos in central and southern Oklahoma.

If you've driven south on Interstate 35 you've likely seen the Chickasaw Nation's casinos -- the RiverWind Casino in Norman and the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, just north of the Texas state line. According to financial reports, they're extremely profitable.

The Chickasaws net income, or profits, so far this year totals more than $259 million.

The tribe currently employs 10,500 people and including their casinos, operates more than 60 different businesses.

The Chickasaws are diversifying their investments in several industries including healthcare and banking.

But still, the Chickasaws welcomed an additional $11 million in Federal stimulus money. They'll spend the money on many of the same projects the other tribes will -- infrastructure like housing projects, water lines, roads and healthcare.
