Tulsa city leaders are working to create a parks master plan and they want to hear from the public.
Tulsa city councilors are kicking off a series of virtual meetings Monday to hear from the public about ways to improve, maintain & invest in Tulsa's City parks.
Last year Tulsa voters approved the ‘Improve Our Tulsa’ package, which includes $30 million to be invested in Tulsa parks.
Tulsa City Parks and Recreation Director Anna America said the money will start coming in next year and will be distributed over a 6-year period. She said the city wants to be ready with a master plan when that time comes.
City leaders want to know what folks like in their city parks and what they'd like to see.
Because of COVID-19 the city won't hold any in-person town-hall meetings like it would have in the past, but that opens more options for the city to get opinions. The city has set up a survey, email, Facebook page and phone line for input.
City councilors will also hold zoom town hall meetings all month. The first is Monday night from 6 to 8 for those in District 5.
You can find a full list of dates, along with the other ways you can give input on the City of Tulsa’s website.
