Group Of Lawmakers Request Investigation Into Dept. Of Education Over Epic Audit

A coalition of republican lawmakers have called or an investigation into the State Department of Education over a recent audit of Epic Charter Schools.

That auditor’s report accuses Epic of mishandling millions of dollars in state funds. Epic denies any wrongdoing and said it plans to debunk the allegations.

A group of state senators and representatives are calling for a separate investigation into the Department of Education. They said the audit showed the department failed in its oversight of Epic’s finances.

They called on Governor Kevin Stitt to request that investigation from the state auditor’s office.
