Local Uber Driver Arrested On Rape & Kidnapping Complaints

Prosecutors filed charges against Timothy Greene on complaints of kidnapping and rape in the first-degree.

Court documents stated that Greene picked up a woman from Major’s bar in Edmond while driving for Uber. When the victim got in the car officials said she was raped and never taken home.

“You think in these types of situations you’d be safe but in this day in age I don’t know if we are ever safe anymore,” said Damon Devereaux, Logan County Sheriff.

Records stated that the victim’s husband became worried when his wife didn’t come home when she said she would. So, he pinged her phone to the area of Waterloo Road and Westminster.

There he made contact with the driver identified as Greene. At first he was not realizing his wife was in the car. But, when the car drove to a second location, he pinged her phone again, this time seeing his wife in the passenger seat.

Court documents stated that he tried to get his wife out of the car, but Greene sped off with the victim’s leg still hanging out.

“At some point in time the phone was thrown out of the car and we were out of luck trying to track her,” said Devereaux.

Until early the next day when a Logan County family called authorities and stated that they found a woman sleeping in their car who seemed to be lost and confused.

“We were able to try and timeline from when she left the vehicle and trying to get help by ringing the doorbell, but no one answered,” said Devereaux.

Now, the sheriff is leery other women may have had a similar experience and said if they have to come forward.

"One of our concerns is how many women has this happened to and if there is more people out there that believes this has happened to them to please reach out to your local law enforcement and let them know,” said Devereaux.

Greene worked at the Oklahoma Tax Commission but has since been let go. Uber, also removed him off its app.
