Muskogee police say a suspect has turned himself in following a deadly shooting that took place on Tuesday night.
According to police, officers were called to the scene of a shooting around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. When officers arrived on scene, they found a man laying on the ground unresponsive.
The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
While officers investigated the scene, a man showed up at the police department and told officers he needed to turn himself in for the fatal shooting.
The suspect advised officers that he was Natives American and the FBI and Creek Nation were notified and arrived on scene to take over the investigation.
Currently, the identity of the victim and the suspect are unknown.
