Tulsa County leaders plan to replace the sewage system at Berryhill Schools.

Sewage is currently being dumped into a lagoon right behind the school.

The replacement project will have the system tied in with the Sand Springs sewer system.

"This is a transformative project for this region. I mean the schools are continuing to grow. They just don't have any more capacity back here. It's just not a good situation you can see how close this is to the school buildings. It's time for it to go," said Karen Keith, Tulsa County Commissioner.

County Commissioners approved $2.7 million from the American Rescue Plan for the project.
