Police are working to find the person who's going around downtown Tulsa, shooting people with a pellet gun. With Saint Patrick's day gatherings, officers warned everyone to pay attention to their surroundings.
"Being shot at from a moving vehicle can really do some real damage to you," said Andre Baul, Tulsa Police.
Tulsa Police said they responded to the Arts District twice Wednesday night, March 17 and two people were hit with pellets. TPD said a similar incident happened last week on 2nd street near Cincinnati where a woman was hit in the chest, neck and chin.
Police think these incidents are related to a social media trend.
"From what we have learned, is a TikTok challenge of some sort," said Baul. Officer Andre Baul said he thinks the attacks are random, feeding off a copycat trend.
"You know how social media is, one person gets a hold it, millions of people get a hold of it," said Baul. At this time, there are no serious injuries.
"For those who are doing this, understand, that not everybody knows that you're playing a trick," said Baul.
He warned the prank could have serious consequences. "They see a weapon, or they see a gun of some sort and that person, that other person may have a weapon too, but it may be a different weapon," said Baul.
Police said it's important to stay vigilant, especially in Downtown Tulsa. "Be careful, be aware, and if you see something call us," said Baul.
