President Trump's medical team, led by Navy Commander Dr. Sean Conley, spoke in front of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Saturday to provide an update on his status after testing positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
Dr. Conley stated that the team is pleased with the President's progress thus far and says his fever has subsided. President Trump started treatment with remdesivir, a drug that has shortened the recovery time for some patients with the virus. Dr. Conley stated that the President has not required supplemental oxygen and other members of the medical team reported that he is handling everything well.
“He’s in exceptionally good spirits,” said another doctor, Sean Dooley.
According to Dr. Conley, First Lady Melania Trump is recovering at home and does not require extra care at this time.
