The Sand Springs Police department said a father and his two teenage daughters are dead in an "apparent double murder-suicide" at a home near 41st and Highway 97.

Police said the man killed his two daughters before killing himself. Police said the girls' mother called police and told them her husband had called her at work making threats he was going to kill their daughters. The mother told police she heard a gunshot while on the phone.

Police said when officers went to the house to check on the girls, they knocked with no answer and when they went inside, they found all three dead.

Sand Springs Police has called OSBI to help with the investigation and are still waiting on a search warrant. Police said they don't know the exact motive right now, but they said the mother told them she and her husband were having some marriage problems.

"If you see something, you know something, say something. So we can try to help, get people the help that they need or get them away from each other, get them some other resources so they don't have to live in violence," Captain Todd Enzbrenner said.

Police said this scene is less than a mile from where two children and their mother were killed in a murder-suicide just 10 days ago.

"Now we have six additional officers who have to deal with this tragedy, a tragedy like this. We have the resources to help us get through it, and we will. We're resilient, this is what we do for a living," Enzbrenner said.

The Sand Springs Chief of Police Mike Carter issued the following statement, saying,

"Today our officers are dealing with another scene of senseless violence against innocent people. This is so out of place for our community, that we are all trying to understand why. I ask that if you are in a situation in which you feel hopeless, angry or out of control, please call us and let us help you. If you live with someone who needs help, or you need to leave to get to a safe place, please call and let us help. If you do not want the involvement of the police, please call 211 and ask for help. I ask that EVERYONE make a point to be a little more kind to our fellow man, be a little less quick to anger and quicker to show empathy and humanity. I ask for your thoughts and prayers for the victims, their families, their friends and our community. Thank you Sand Springs, we will get through this together, but only together."
