People stopped by all day Thursday to celebrate Clyde Smith’s 100th birthday, including an organization dedicated to honoring Oklahomans who are 100 years old.

His daughter, Ruby Moore, made sure it was special for her dad.

"It's not every day that somebody turns 100, and then with all that he's been through in life," said Moore.

Smith served in the Army during World War II, was married for 66 years, and is a Master Mason and Shriner. These are all accomplishments that Terri Callaway with Centenarians of Oklahoma wants to celebrate. She stopped by to give Smith a certificate.

"We try to attend as many birthday parties, drive-by parades that we can to honor as many centenarians as we can," said Callaway.

The nonprofit tries to celebrate everyone in Oklahoma who reaches this milestone. Callaway said they're the only organization like it in the U.S.

"You just hear so many interesting things about what they've done in their life,” Callaway said.

Smith is the last living of 10 siblings. He has seven grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. His advice for young people?

"I say be good to people," Smith said.

The Centenarians of Oklahoma said if you know someone who is turning 100, they'd love to hear from you. You can visit their website here to let them know.
