Man Enters Guilty Plea After Deadly Tulsa Shooting, Robbery

A man pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter for killing a man at an apartment complex near 21st and Memorial in September 2020.

A man pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter for killing a man at an apartment complex near 21st and Memorial in September 2020.

Investigators said Andre Roberts shot James Sumner during a robbery. Roberts also pleaded guilty to assault & battery and owning a firearm after a prior felony conviction.

Officers also arrested Candace McGrew in connection to the case. Police said she told them she earned money from Sumner the day before and knew he was coming into more money, so she and Roberts went back to ransack his apartment and steal his car.

McGrew is due in court next week.
