Green Country Habitat for Humanity is expanding its retail operations with a new location in Jenks. It's called the Restore Home Improvement Outlet.

President and CEO of Green Country Habitat for Humanity,, Cameron Walker said it took about four years of hard work to get to this point.

"The community has been extremely supportive in welcoming since we announced we were coming," Walker said.

Thursday was the soft opening for the non-profit's third, and largest, store that is at about 40,000 square feet.

"We purchase liquated items, so we have new supplies and items in here that will help with home improvement. The other part is the donated items from the community," Walker stated.

Walker said he group tries to keep used items out of the landfill and into new homes, as 100 percent of the proceeds go to support their mission to help low and moderate-income Tulsans become homeowners.

He said this 40,000 square foot store offers a a much larger selection of new merchandise than the two other stores in Tulsa.

"We want to be a destination city, and this is one more way to bring people in our city," Isbell said.

Jenks City Council Member Gary Isbell said the store not only helps increase employment opportunity in the area but helps brighten up the west side.

"The area slowed in the last year for obvious reasons, but we are happy to announce this opening,” Isbell said.
