Washington County Deputy Kyle Davis has been laid to rest after 2,000 people attended his funeral today at Copan High School.
Although the funeral is over, people can still come to the sheriff's office, where there is a memorial to Davis.
“It’s been very difficult, but the outpouring of love and support from the community has been amazing.” Kyle’s wife Kristin Davis said.
It’s what’s held Kristin together in her husband’s passing.
“Hearing the stories from the surrounding people I didn’t even know he knew; it’s really helped us this week,” Kristin said.

“The biggest heart and he would do anything for anybody, and he loved his family, friends were his family.”
One of those friends is Undersheriff Jon Copeland, who trained Deputy Davis during his time in the patrol division.
Kristin said Kyle always tried his best to make someone smile to lighten up their day. His father, Randy Davis, and others emphasized that during the funeral service.
“He was referred to as a gentle giant, great smile, great sense of humor,” Randy said.
“Kyle always managed to keep things light, Kyle was a jokester, he can make you laugh even on your worst day,” Copeland said.
Even though his job was hard, Kristin said he always made sure to put his family first.
