A new program is offering Tulsa Community College students a chance to receive a bachelor's degree through a partnership with Oklahoma State University Tulsa Campus.
Officials said students enrolling in TCC for their first semester can apply for the new College Park program.
The new program hopes to create a seamless transition from community college to university.
“I think this will be an experience that many students wish to have and that is something that may be a barrier for them that is no longer there," said Leigh Goodson.
Goodson is the President of Tulsa Community College and said the program is starting in the fall for students who want a bachelor's degree in business.
“It’s the number one destination program for most TCC transfer students at OSU. So we wanted to start with the program that most of them were interested in pursuing," said Pamela Fry.
Fry is the OSU-Tulsa President and said they hope to expand the program to engineering students and health sciences in the future. TCC faculty will teach students for the first two years on the OSU Tulsa campus and OSU faculty will teach the final two years.
“Any TCC student can always come in for early advisement to make sure what they are enrolled in at TCC will count toward the degree that they want to pursue at OSU," said Fry.
She said the goal is to give students an opportunity to get the bachelor's degree without leaving Tulsa.
“One aspect of student success is the actual student experience and being able to have a single student experience on one campus is something that many students want to have," said Goodson.
Enrollment begins May 3rd.
