The Claremore Chamber of Commerce is encouraging everyone to eat out this week to support the city’s restaurant industry after impacts as a result of the pandemic. Many restaurants and other businesses are offering deals throughout the week.
Chamber spokesperson Ashley May said the event was first planned last year but was put on hold because of the COVID-19 pandemic. She said this is the right time since many restaurants and local businesses have struggled during the pandemic.
25 different Claremore businesses are participating, including well-known places like Chick-fil-A and Buffalo Wild Wings. Some bars and liquor stores are also taking part.
The chamber said there is something for everyone and they are always trying to find ways to get people shopping in town.
“We just want to get the word out that it’s really important to please shop local, eat local, support all of our businesses because they’ve all been struggling,” said May. “Everyone has been affected by COVID-19 and this is just one small thing that we’re trying to do to make things better.”
Participating restaurants also have bingo cards that can be picked up. After getting five stamps from any of the restaurants in any order, you can submit a card to the chamber office by Monday to be entered to win a grand prize.
