Tulsa police officers are on the scene of what appeared to be an accidental shooting Saturday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 1 p.m. at the Lakeside Apartments near East 21st Street and South 101st East Avenue.

TPD detectives interviewed Corry Lykes and his girlfriend, Tia Norwood, involved in the initial altercation.

Lykes told authorities that he threatened Norwood with a taser. Norwood then tried to take Lykes' pistol and leave the apartment.

When he tried to stop her, the gun went off.

The bullet went through the wall next door and struck a neighbor in the head. Police said the neighbor is now considered brain dead, but he is being kept on life support because he is an organ donor.

Norwood is now in jail on complaints of first-degree manslaughter and reckless handling of a firearm. Lykes was also arrested.
