Tulsa police say a man is in custody on Tuesday morning after a home invasion at an apartment complex near 71st and Riverside.
According to police, officers responded to the Red River Apartments around 10 p.m. on Monday after getting a call about a burglary.
Police say the suspect, Joseph Bart, kicked in the door of one of the apartments, assaulted a woman, threatened her with a knife, and damaged the apartment.
Police added that Bart and the victim knew each other.
When officers got to the apartment, they say the car that had dropped off the suspect was leaving. Officers were able to get Bart to come out of the apartment but say he had a knife and was not following any of their commands. After a while, police say Bart dropped the knife and was arrested.
According to police, the victim was also able to get out of the apartment and was not injured.
Police say Bart was drunk at the time and he is now facing multiple charges, including burglary and violating a protective order.
TPD said Bart has prior convictions in Wagoner and Tulsa Counties for felony assault and battery and burglary.
