Road Project Begins On Busy Stretch Of Memorial Drive

Drivers will notice some significant slowdowns on a busy stretch of Memorial Drive in Tulsa this week.

Currently, maintenance work is set to start Monday and will impact 10 blocks of Memorial from East 71st Street to East 81st Street.

Work will begin on the inside lanes with traffic being pushed to the outside lanes.

When that work is completed, traffic will then shift to the inside lanes as crews work on the outside lanes.

The City of Tulsa signed a $1.4 million contract with Ellsworth Construction, a Tulsa-based company.

The work is for an asphalt overlay and is expected to wrap up in late August, around the same time school will resume.
