A Tulsa judge has sentenced an Owasso woman to 25 years in prison for killing her husband eight years ago.
A jury found Vicky McNeely guilty of first-degree manslaughter earlier this month for the death of Dan McNeely, and this was the sentence the jury recommended.

Both of Dan's daughters said they are so happy to finally be getting justice. They say their lives will never be the same and because of that Vicky deserves to spend the rest of her life in jail. McNeely is now 76, so if she serves the full sentence, she’d be 101.
The judge said McNeely will only get credit for the time she’s been in jail since July 1, so any other time she’s spent in jail over the years will not count.
McNeely shot and killed her husband at their home in 2013, but the case took years to go to trial. McNeely and her attorneys argued the whole time that Vicky shot and killed Dan in self-defense and argued Dan had a drinking problem and came at her with knives.
However, prosecutors said Dan was shot five times including once in the back of the head, which is why it wasn't self-defense.
Vicky’s attorney released a statement to News On 6 saying, “The judge followed the jury’s verdict. We announced our intent to appeal and intend on filing the appropriate paperwork.”
