Isaiah Wilson has been found guilty on two counts of first-degree murder and one count shooting with intent to kill for his involvement in the shooting that killed Cory Todd and Anthony Cooks and severely injured another man, Donte Todd.
Police found 27 shell casings at the shooting scene and each of the three shooting victims had more than six gunshot wounds each, including wounds to the head and back. Prosecutors argue Isaiah Wilson stole one of the victims guns weeks before the shooting and caused a fight.
Prosecutors argue Wilson planned to get revenge against the victims and say text message evidence proves that. They say on the night of the shooting that the Wilson brothers were armed and sprayed bullets at another car, killing Todd and Cooks while injuring Todd’s brother. Wilson’s attorney has argued there are too many inconsistencies in the witnesses' stories.
Wilson testified he only pulled out his gun because he saw Cory Todd with a gun and Wilson feared for his life.
He said he heard gunshots around him and started firing shots. Several witnesses testified that the Wilson’s were the only two people who had guns.
Isaiah's brother Victor Wilson has already been found guilty by a jury of the 2017 murders was sentenced to life in prison.
The jury returned the verdict just before 6:30 on Thurday night. A recommendation was made for life in prison without parole for both the first degree murders and life in prison for the shooting with intent to kill charge.
