The Tulsa Health Department is concerned about an emerging trend in COVID-19 cases, with the sharpest rise in cases lately in the 3-18 age group.

Dr. Bruce Dart, Director of Tulsa Health, spoke on Six in the Morning Thursday and said in the last week, two people in that age range had died.

Dart said the impact of school opening is beginning to show in the numbers. “We've been waiting to see the impact of school opening, and we're seeing that in cases,” he said. “We expected to see our cases increase with school opening,” said Dart, who noted that many of the new infections are in children who are too young to get the vaccine.
