Former OU Quarterback Baker Mayfield Speaks About Julius Jones Execution

Former University of Oklahoma and current Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield addressed the upcoming execution of death row inmate Julius Jones at media availability on Wednesday.

Mayfield said, "It's not something that's easy to talk about. Been trying to get the facts stated and the truth to be told for awhile now. Tried and tried. It's a shame that its gotten this far, we're 24 hours away ... Hopefully God can intervene and handle it correctly and do the things he needs to do."

Governor Kevin Stitt has until 4 p.m. Thursday to grant clemency for Jones.
