Tulsa Police Arrest Woman Accused Of Abusing Puppy

Tulsa police have arrested a woman accused of abusing a puppy.

Police say someone reported Sarah Powell to officers after they saw her kicking and dragging a puppy on Friday afternoon.

According to police, witnesses say they tried to stop the abuse and Powell threatened them. When officers arrived on scene, Powell tossed the puppy to an officer and tried to run.

Powell was captured and arrested for cruelty to an animal, threats of violence and obstruction.

Officers say the puppy is safe and is now at the Tulsa Animal Shelter for treatment and care.

Witnesses told officers they were interested in adopting the puppy.
