Two people were taken into custody after a wrong-way chase ended in a crash, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
OHP says the pursuit began when a trooper spotted a car speeding down Highway 412. After some time the driver, 40-year-old Jesse Davis of Kansas, crossed into oncoming traffic and then ran off the road and into a field around 257th E Ave near Fair Oaks. Troopers say that Davis and a woman fled their vehicle after the crash and that an OHP vehicle was damaged.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the Rogers County Sheriff's Office, and the Grand River Dam Authority all sent units in the area to search for the suspects. Troopers say the suspects were apprehended just after 10 a.m. after a short foot chase.
“We always work together. We all do the same job in different ways and when people try to get away from us we all come and catch the bad guy,” said Trooper Russell Cissne.
According to OHP reports, Davis was placed under arrest while the woman was released.
