State and local leaders are set to take part in the long-awaited grand opening of the USA BMX Headquarters in Tulsa on Tuesday. The complex sits near Highway 75 and Archer in downtown Tulsa’s Greenwood District.
In addition to the organization’s headquarters, a Hall of Fame museum and two tracks will be located at the site. The City of Tulsa and BMX broke ground in 2019 using money approved by voters in the 2016 Vision Tulsa package.
Local tourism leaders believe the facility will contribute to the city’s economic revenue as people come from all over to check it out. Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell and Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum are among those expected to attend the grand opening ceremony.
Olympians will do demos on the new track as part of the ceremony. The pre-show is scheduled for 12 p.m. and the ribbon cutting will happen at 1 p.m.
