Police Arrest Woman Accused Of Setting Fire At Tulsa Apartment Complex

Tulsa police have arrested a woman for arson after she allegedly lit a fire in a hallway at the Hewgley Terrace apartments early Wednesday morning. Police say it started as a domestic call and ended in an arson arrest.

TPD says around 1 a.m. officers were called to the apartment complex near West 7th Street and Highway 244. Officers say when they arrived they found smoke coming from the third floor.

Officers say a man and woman were verbally arguing, the woman got angry, and that is when she lit something on fire and threw it into the hallway. Police say there is only minor damage to the hallway and nobody was hurt.

Tulsa police say they arrested Latonya Lee McVay, but when they put her in the back of a patrol car she began kicking the glass and the car. They say they moved the woman to a cage car before transporting her to jail to keep both her and the officers safe.
