Man Pleads Guilty To Maiming Tulsa County Man, Murder Charge Dropped

A man charged in the 2019 death of Jared Langworthy pleads guilty to a single charge of maiming and has his murder charge dropped.

A man charged in the 2019 death of Jared Langworthy pleads guilty to a single charge of maiming and has his murder charge dropped.

On Monday, Aaron Welch admitted to being involved in Longworthy's death. Prosecutors dropped the other charges pending further investigation. He will serve three years in prison with credit for time served.

Investigators found Langworthy's body beaten and burned in a ditch in north Tulsa County in December of 2019.

Prosecutors say the killing was related to the Universal Aryan Brotherhood. Nine people have been charged in his death though charges have since been dismissed against some.

Billy Griffith and Cody Fulmer are serving prison sentences after pleading guilty to murder while Tyler Coyle is serving 8 years for pleading guilty to aggravated assault Kyler Helton, Donnie Taylor, and Jerry Williamson are still awaiting trial in that case.
