Weekend Events: Route 66 Marathon, Christmas Shopping, Food Drives And More

The weekend is finally here and there's a lot going on in Green Country!

Six In The Morning weekend anchor, Kristen Weaver, joined us to share all of the fun and exciting things happening.

Route 66 Marathon in Tulsa

As always, downtown and streets all over Tulsa will be closing for this marathon. CLICK HERE to see maps of the road closures.

The expo for racers is Friday, Nov. 17, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 18, at 8 a.m. is the 5K, then the 1K at 9 a.m., and the mascot dash is at 9:30 a.m.

Sunday, Nov. 19, is the big race day. The marathon and half marathon start at 8 a.m.

Sand Springs Christmas Tree Lighting

Sand Springs will light its Christmas tree on Saturday, Nov. 18.

This event goes from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Triangle Park in downtown Sand Springs.

Live music will start at 5:30 p.m. and the tree will be lit at 7 p.m. There will also be food, carriage rides, hot cocoa, and more family activities.

There will be drop offs all day Saturday, Nov. 18, at WalMarts across the Tulsa area.

An Affair of the Heart Event in Tulsa

If you're looking to get some Christmas shopping done early, the Affair of the Heart is back at Expo Square.

Shop hundreds of artists, crafters, boutique owners and small retailers over three days at Expo Square.

You visit Friday, Nov. 17 and Saturday, Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday, Nov. 19 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Muskogee Christmas Expo

This event takes place Saturday, Nov. 18 and Sunday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Hatbox Event Center. The big Christmas Expo has shopping, food, and entertainment.

You can take photos with Santa, take your kids to read with Mrs. Claus, find holiday fashions, and shop more than 100 local and national businesses for all things decorations, goodies, and gifts.

Dickens on the Boulevard in Claremore

Claremore is hosting Dickens on the Boulevard Friday, Nov. 17 and Saturday, Nov. 18 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

It's a free Victorian themed Christmas event in Downtown Claremore's Lilac District.

There will be live entertainment, a costume contest, period themed dancing, carriage rides, photos with Santa and late-night shopping.
