Arts Alliance Tulsa Gives Back To The Community With Free Holiday Event

Christmas cheer filled Guthrie Green with arts and crafts, music, hot chocolate and even letters for Santa Claus.

Alex Brunner-Bourne and his dad Paul started their holiday season with Art in the Park.

"Well we came down here to get in the spirit and hear some Christmas music," Brunner-Bourne said.

The free event was hosted by Arts Alliance Tulsa. Executive Director of the non-profit Todd Cunningham said it's about giving back to the community.

"This is a great way for the arts to come together and to show people a big thank you for all that they do for the arts in our community," he said.

There was a little bit of something for everyone out there, and organizers made sure to invite some special guests.

"Most definitely! My heart has grown from this event because I love to give back, ever since about a week ago," Mr. Grinch said.

Mr. Grinch and Santa Claus made the trip from Whoville and the North Pole to spend their evening with the people in Tulsa. "Tons of little children, little Who's everywhere," Mr. Grinch said.

Cunningham said it was rewarding to see the event come to life.

"I mean to see the kids' faces and watch them light up when either they run into the Grinch or they get to grab a bag of candy for free."

And it's events like this one can even make the Grinch's heart grow three times bigger.

"We truly want everyone to celebrate the art of Christmas and give back," Mr. Grinch said.

And while Mr. Grinch and Santa Claus may not get to stick around Tulsa all year long, Arts Alliance Tulsa will.
