Honey-Bourbon Slow Cooker Meatballs

Description

These meatballs are great as an appetizer or snack. They’re also great served over pasta or mashed potatoes. The honey-bourbon mixture is an MIO winning combination. You’ll love this sauce so much, you may find other ways of using it in addition to meatballs!


Ingredients

  • 2 Equally Yolkes Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons chopped Scissortail Farms Basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • ½ cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • ½ cup Roark Acres Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • ¾ cup Hochatown Distilling Co. Bourbon
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 minced garlic cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: To make the meatballs – Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Mix eggs, Italian seasoning, basil, salt, pepper and garlic powder together in a large bowl. Add beef and panko, mixing thoroughly.
  2. Shape mixture: Shape mixture into about 40 (1 1/2-inch) balls. Place on ungreased, rimmed baking sheets.
  3. Bake meatballs: Bake about 15 minutes, turning halfway through cooking time.
  4. Make sauce: To make sauce – In a mixing bowl, combine ketchup, honey, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, bourbon, red pepper flakes and garlic.
  5. Slow cook meatballs: Place meatballs in the slow cooker. Pour sauce over and stir to coat the meatballs. Place lid on and set the timer to 4-5 hours on low.
  6. Stir and serve: Stir meatballs, and serve hot.
